Vista/XP Virtual Desktops is a Desktop Windows Manager for Windows XP or Vista.
Using this program, you will have in your desktop thumbnail API's can be used to access thumbnails of open windows.

With Vista/XP Virtual Desktops you can have as many desktops as you want and can seamlessly switch between them.

Despite that Windows XP doesn´t have DWV, this program supports XP as well, although window previews are not live.

Once you install the program, you will have a tiny toolbar on the lower right corner of the screen, with circles numbered from 1 to 4, representing the four different desktops you can define.

This toolbar can be easily moved and placed wherever you want, horizontally or vertically.

You can then define different desktops, with different open windows for each one, and switch between them by clicking on the numbered circles or the scheme that will appear when you put the mouse over them.

Right clicking on the toolbar you can choose to switch to desktop, send all windows or only the current window to desktop or send the desktop windows to current desktop.
